Being A Loud Introvert

Earlier in 2020, I declared it was the Year of Loud Women, encouraging all women (including introverts) to get louder in their marketing.

When I made this declaration, I had no idea what 2020 would bring us – from brushfires in Australia to a worldwide pandemic. In between the many international events (way too many to list here!), we have seen women speak up, take up more space, share their Gifts, and throw risk to the wind.

We still have work to do, though. Ladies, we must get louder and louder!

As an introvert, I am often wonder how I can get louder without depleting my energy stores. My introversion comes with low energy, so the idea of getting loud sounds exhausting.

If this is you too, please read this week’s marketing lesson.

Our introversion is a Gift, not a hindrance. We must use our introversion to our advantage. The world is begging for dramatic, feminine-driven change, and female introverted entrepreneurs are part of the equation. Let’s figure out how to do this.

Women entrepreneurs are changing the world. We must continue to share our Gifts, healing those who need it, and be compensated for our contribution to the betterment of the world.

To accomplish this, we need to get louder in our marketing.

Here’s the rub: You probably agree with everything I just typed, but the idea of being loud exhausts you (before you even begin).

This is especially true for the female introvert who owns a business.

I know because I am one.

Loud sounds tiring. Loud sounds running to your bed and pulling the blankets over your head. Loud sounds uncomfortable, noisy, and I daresay, masculine.

Here’s the thing: You need to change your definition of loud.

For sure, some loud things can sound unpleasant – like a siren blaring, or the crash of pots and pans.

That’s not the kind of loud I’m referring to. Being loud has nothing to do with noise or increased volume. And that’s why you can be a Loud Introvert.

6 ways you can be a Loud Introvert by Jill Celeste

Specifically, here are the six ways you can be a Loud Introvert:

  1. Share your Gifts, persistently
  2. Take up more space, unapologetically
  3. Implement marketing, joyfully
  4. Align with like-minded people, tenaciously
  5. Be yourself, imperfectly
  6. Know your self-worth, confidently

Now, how does loud feel? Maybe a little scary, but hopefully no longer as exhausting!

Please know: Loud and introversion go together. Sure, you have to protect your energy, but you can still be a Loud Introvert.

Loud isn’t reserved for extroverts. Loud is for you, too.

Your Marketing Assignments:

  1. Look at how you’re marketing. Is there a marketing tactic you dread? Give yourself permission to abandon it.
  2. Look at your calendar. Do you have time in there for low-energy activities? If not, cancel, postpone, or reschedule stuff. And do so without explanation or apology.
  3. Write your mission statement by answering this question: What change am I making in the world?
