3 Books To Help You Get Your Business Mojo Back by Jill CelesteHave you ever (temporarily) lost your business mojo? You know – when you aren’t feeling motivated to do anything for your business – perhaps even asking “why bother?”

It happens to all entrepreneurs. It’s a mindset block, which means it can be busted.

To combat this mindset block, you may work on getting reacquainted with your mission, or read your customer testimonials, or even take a few days off to recalibrate.

(All excellent ways to shift a mindset!)

If you’re like me, you may also reach for a book. Books are wonderful mindset boosters because they motivate while offering practical steps to help you.

In this week’s blog post, I will share three books that will help you get your business mojo back. These are books that have helped me so much, and I think they’ll help you too.

BLOG:

I’m a lifelong learner and a book worm. You too?

Books are an amazing way to jumpstart your mindset and marketing. Let’s face it: The entrepreneurial journey has many potholes, detours, and full stops. These can be discouraging! Thankfully, there are many books out there to help you navigate through.

I’ve compiled a list of three books that will help you get your business mojo back. Depending on your rut, reading one book may do the trick. If you’re feeling really down and out, then please read all three.

(Disclaimer: I am providing Amazon affiliate links to each book. If you purchase through my link, I will get a commission from Amazon.)

#1: Fascinate: How To Make Your Brand Impossible To Resist by Sally Hogshead

Fascinate by Sally HogsheadSummary: Fascinate is a book for businesses who want to understand their brand personality. Sally Hogshead divides brand personalities into archetypes and provides a free online assessment to help you determine your “advantage.” She then breaks down how each advantage should create messages to woo customers to your business.

Why I recommend this book: Sometimes, our business mojo is low because we need to understand how to market more authentically. Specifically, we want to how to market in a way that feels like an honest representation of our personality. That’s where Fascinate comes in.

Fascinate will tell you exactly what advantage you are and how to apply this information in your marketing. No guessing!

If you’ve been feeling like you’re jamming a square peg into a round hole with your marketing, Fascinate will help you.

#2: Tribes by Seth Godin

Tribes by Seth GodinSummary: Humans are naturally drawn to groups with a common interest – whether it be religion, politics, music, or even a favorite brand of motorcycle. As an entrepreneur, your job is to lead your group (what Seth Godin calls “tribes”) – because when you do, you will always be profitable. So how do you lead? Tribes is our primer.

Why I recommend this book: I love Tribes because it reminds me of why I’m an entrepreneur. It reminds me that I’m here with a purpose – and that a community of people are counting on me to stay on this journey. I also love Tribes because it shows me how to be the leader of my tribe (again, no guesswork).

Seth Godin’s writing style is easy, filled with examples that will inspire you. And at only 147 pages, you can read Tribes in a couple of sittings. Talk about accessible motivation!

#3: The War of Art: Break Through The Blocks and Win Your Inner Creative Battles by Steven Pressfield

The War of Art by Steven PressfieldSummary: Many times, you have lost your business mojo because you’re resisting something. And the best book to bust through Resistance is The War of Art. As a writer, Stephen Pressfield knows how Resistance can stop you, dead in your tracks. He breaks how Resistance manifests in your life and how to push past it. When you’re done reading The War of Art, you’ll recognize your own “demons” and learn how to slay them.

Why I recommend this book: I have coached so many entrepreneurs whose Egos are getting in the way. The Ego launches Resistance, and together, they fight tooth and nail to keep you small and safe. However, small and safe are not how you grow your business and shine your Light.

When I am feeling stuck, lost, and defeated, I reach for The War of Art. It’s a clever book, seemingly “reading my mind” on every page. “Oh, I do that!” are often exclaimed in my head. It helps me to feel normal, knowing I’m not the only one resisting my growth.

Like Tribes by Seth Godin, The War of Art is a quick, accessible read with short chapters and easy reading style. You’ll either plow through this book is a sitting or two, or take a few days because the truth stings. Either way, please read The War of Art because it will propel you right out of your rut.

ABOUT JILL

Hi, I’m Jill Celeste. I teach purpose-driven entrepreneurs (just like you) everything you need to know about marketing so you can become the Director of Marketing for your business.

Because when you put your Director of Marketing hat squarely on your head, marketing is your number one priority (which will result in more clients!).

When I am not teaching about marketing, you’ll find me hanging out with my husband or my teenage boys, or taking a nap with my basset hound, Emma. I also like to play with my two kittens and feed the backyard ducks (much to my neighbor’s chagrin).

If you’re feeling alone in your entrepreneurial journey, I invite you to check out my monthly membership group, The Celestial Circle. Affordable, loving, supportive, informative, and fun – that’s how we roll in The Celestial Circle. We would love to welcome you!
