Every July, without fail, I take a four-week Zoom holiday.
No Virtual Networkers meetings. No webinars. No connection calls. I don’t even record videos (which I do through Zoom).
It may sound like an oxymoron—the founder of a virtual networking organization stepping away from virtual connection for an entire month.
Maybe. For sure, when I first thought of the idea of “No Zoom July,” my mind immediately fired off fear-tinged questions:
- Isn’t being available virtually the lifeblood of your business?
- What will your members think?
- Won’t your visibility suffer?
- What if people forget about you?
But then a louder voice asked the real question:
What will happen to your energy, your creativity, your spirit… if you don’t give yourself a Zoom holiday?
I knew that answer. I would burn out.
And when I burn out, my business will suffer—not an if, but a when.
Ultimately, restoration wins. The need to re-energize, reflect, and rest outweighs any fear I have about stepping away.
So, for about four years now, I’ve listened to my intuition, declared my “No Zoom July,” and haven’t looked back.
What Happens Every “No Zoom July”
And here’s what happens, predictably, every time I take my “No Zoom July”:
- My business does not suffer.
- In fact, July is often one of my most profitable months.
- I feel completely replenished. I start the month with my gas tank nearly empty. By July 25, it’s full, and I’m ready to go.
- With all that space and time, my creativity flows. I write. I plan. I dream. I create marketing strategies and brainstorm improvements for Virtual Networkers.
- My intuition comes in louder and clearer. With my mind uncluttered, those divine nudges don’t get drowned out by day-to-day noise.
- I nap. I hike. I read. I explore.
- And I fall back in love with what I’m doing—like a smile from a high school crush.
I’m not lucky, or special, or uniquely privileged to take a No Zoom July. I simply gave myself permission to listen—to my body, my intuition, and the advice I’ve received from The Universe.
You Can Do This Too
It may not be a Zoom holiday. But I’d bet your intuition is nudging you toward something—something spacious and transformative. Something your soul is yearning for.
Listen. Follow it.
If you need your permission slip, this is it. If you’ve been waiting for a sign, here it is.
You are so worthy.
Have a beautiful July, Loud Woman.
