BLOG:
You can repurpose your blog post in at least 12 different ways. Each blog post is a treasure trove of future content! Why not maximize it to build your know/like/trust factor with your ideal client?
First, we will look at how to break apart a blog post for content. Then, we will see how your blog post can be part of a bigger piece of content. Repurposing magic awaits!
Breaking your blog post into other content
#1: Create quote graphics from your blog post to share on Facebook and Instagram
As an expert in your field, it’s important to share your pearls of wisdom. Review your blog post for sentences that can be repurposed into quotes. Then create social media graphics of your quotes – and share on Facebook and Instagram.
#2: Create Pinterest graphics
Pinterest is a big visual search engine. If you’re a blogger, you can drive traffic from Pinterest to your blog. You want to create graphics that are optimized for Pinterest. Use Canva to help you create Pinterest-sized graphics that point to your blog post. Also, use the quotes from Tip #1 – just optimized for Pinterest.
#3: Write tweets
If you’re using Twitter for marketing, you have an opportunity to share your wisdom in 280 characters. What nuggets of wisdom can you pull from your blog post and make into tweets? Again, what quotes from Tip #1 can you make into tweets?
#4: Write long-form social media posts
Entire paragraphs or sections of your blog post make great long-form social media posts. Review your blog post and pull out a section that you can copy/paste into Facebook or Instagram. You can add a graphic to attract your fans and followers (I like to use a free stock photo site like Unsplash for this).
#5: Shoot a Facebook or Instagram Live
Your blog post is a great script for a livestreamed video. You can reference the entire blog post – or just a section. Perhaps offer other insights or maybe a question you received after the blog post published. It’s your chance to be creative!
#6: Record a video
Hand in hand with livestreaming, record a video based on your blog post – and then upload it to YouTube and Facebook. Use Rev.com for captions, which will increase your viewership. You can create one longer video or several smaller videos – all based on your blog post.
#7: Design an Instagram carousel post
Instagram carousel posts are great for mini-trainings. Basically, you are uploading up to 10 graphics in the same post, which forces your Instagram followers to keep swiping right to get all of the content. Not only will the learn something, you are helping your Instagram algorithm because people are stopping on your post.
#8: Repurpose for a future blog post
Once you have written this blog post, there’s no rule that says it can’t reappear as a future blog post. If it’s been a year or more, repurpose it. I would create a new intro and graphics, and be sure to edit it (you’ll be surprised how you’ve gained more insight!).
Repurpose your blog post into bigger pieces of content
Now, let’s switch gears and talk about how your blog post can feed into a larger piece of content.
#9: Make it part of a book
My first book, That First Client, is a collection of blog posts. It’s true! Look for themes in your blog posts and then repurpose your blog posts into a book. How can you string together 25-30 of your blog posts into a short book? Of course, you’ll need to edit and finesse your copy, but the blog posts will give you an amazing head start.
#10: Create a course
Again, look for themes among your blog posts. How can you put them together to create a course? Your blog posts have already done the heavy lifting! You just need to piece it together into curriculum.
#11: Record a video series
Video series are popular lead magnets. This is when you record 4-5 videos that are dripped to a subscriber over time. Chances are you have 4-5 related blog posts that could be the “fodder” for your videos.
#12: Create a lead magnet
In addition to a video series, your blog posts make create foundations for other lead magnets, such as checklists, recipe books, how-to guides, and short e-books. How can you repurpose a blog post into a lead magnet?
There you have it – 12 new pieces of content – all from one blog post! It’s amazing to think about how many different ways a blog post can be used for smaller and larger forms of content. I hope I got your creative juices flowing.
Remember, you don’t need to write new content all the time. Repurpose your existing content will help you and your ideal client. I can’t wait to see what repurposed content you create.

ABOUT JILL
Hi, I’m Jill Celeste. I teach purpose-driven entrepreneurs (just like you) everything you need to know about marketing so you can become the Director of Marketing for your business.
Because when you put your Director of Marketing hat squarely on your head, marketing is your number one priority (which will result in more clients!).
When I am not teaching about marketing, you’ll find me hanging out with my husband or my sons, loving up my two cats, or feeding the backyard ducks (much to my neighbor’s chagrin). I am an avid reader of literary fiction and personal development books. And I like to talk to my sweet basset hound, Emma, who left this earthly plane on October 17, 2019.
