The Emotional Guidance Scale by Abraham-Hicks is not only a valuable guide for your personal life, it’s also an amazing tool to improve your marketing.

The Emotional Guidance Scale is a range of 22 emotions, leading with the most positive and empowering (joy, knowledge, empowerment, freedom, love and appreciation), and ending with the most negative and disempowering (fear, grief, depression, despair, powerlessness).

To manifest what you want in life (and your business), you want to be at the positive, empowering end. However, especially in our turbulent times, it can be hard to always feel joy and empowerment.

That’s where the scale comes in handy; it’s your guide on how to move up from one emotion to another.

As you move up the Emotional Guidance Scale, your marketing improves. It’s really that simple.

Intrigued? Keep reading and learn how to use the Abraham-Hicks Emotional Guidance Scale to improve your marketing. And, if you want a deeper dive, be sure to check out my course, Manifest More Clients.

In their book, Ask And It Is Given*, Esther and Jerry Hicks introduce an important valuable tool: The Emotional Guidance Scale.

The Emotional Guidance Scale specifies 22 emotions and organizes them by alignment to Source Energy. In Ask And It Is Given, Hicks uses a fuel tank analogy. The higher up the Emotional Guidance Scale, the fuller your gas tank. Here’s how the Emotional Guidance Scale looks (pages 114-115):

  1. Joy/Knowledge/Empowerment/Freedom/Love/Appreciation
  2. Passion
  3. Enthusiasm/Eagerness/Happiness
  4. Positive Expectation/Belief
  5. Optimism
  6. Hopefulness
  7. Contentment
  8. Boredom
  9. Pessimism
  10. Frustration/Irritation/Impatience
  11. Overwhelm
  12. Disappointment
  13. Doubt
  14. Worry
  15. Blame
  16. Discouragement
  17. Anger
  18. Revenge
  19. Hatred/Rage
  20. Jealousy
  21. Insecurity/Guilt/Unworthiness
  22. Fear/Grief/Depression/Despair/Powerlessness

Emotional Guidance Scale and your marketing

In the simplest of terms, your emotions impact the effectiveness of your marketing.

You see, your emotions should match the desired destination of your marketing. What is the desired destination? You may say “more clients” or “more revenue” or even “being more organized.” But, these sentiments are not quite there.

For example, when you say, “I want more clients,” The Universe is hearing:

  • “I am disappointed that I don’t have more clients.”
  • “I am angry that my marketing isn’t working.”
  • “I am lacking.”

Instead, think about the emotion you’re trying to reach, as a result of your marketing efforts. How will you feel when you have all these clients? It would probably look like this:

  • “It will be good to have so many clients.”
  • “It will be wonderful to help so many people.”
  • “I appreciate my clients so much.”
  • “I am thankful that my marketing is working.”
  • “I adore my clients, marketing, and business so much!”

Do you see how these statements take you from a feeling of lack to abundance? From anger to joy?

I love this question by Abraham-Hicks about the Emotional Guidance Scale (page 297):

“Do I feel powerful, or do I feel powerless?”

Ask yourself that question right now (as it relates to your marketing). If you’re leaning toward powerlessness, it’s important to identify where you are on the Emotional Guidance Scale and work your way up.

You want to do this before you implement your marketing. Getting in the highest vibration (emotion) possible will make your marketing work the best (not to mention, you’ll feel great in the process).

If you need help with moving up the Emotional Guidance Scale, check out Process #22: Moving Up The Emotional Scale in Ask And It Is Given. This process will teach you how to feel better, especially on days when you’re on the lower end of the scale.

Coming from a place of scarcity, fear, or despair never works for your marketing. Imagine, though, how effective your marketing will be if you come from a place of joy, appreciation, and passion. Your marketing will skyrocket!

Check your emotions first

Before you complete any marketing tasks, check your emotions first. Work your way up the scale, as needed, to ensure you’re in the highest place of powerfulness as possible. Don’t start any marketing until you do this.

It takes discipline, but you’ll love the results. Emotionally guided marketing will not only garner the results you’re looking for, it also puts you in the driver’s seat. You got this!
