Virtual Networkers

Jill Celeste,
Founder of Virtual Networkers

I am experiencing “life fatigue” right now—when all the moving pieces of your world, big and small, pile up and wear you down.

What Life Fatigue Looks Like

Here’s a snapshot of what drained me over just four days:

  • Spending days trying to get a prescription approved, babysitting the back-and-forth between pharmacy, doctor, and insurance company
  • Not knowing when my Marine son will be back from deployment (he’s okay!)
  • Navigating a tender situation with my oldest son (he’s okay too!)
  • Pushing myself to work out nine days in a row to meet a fitness goal
  • Making the difficult decision to close a Virtual Networkers chapter
  • Wrestling with automation errors that feel endless—and yes, public-facing
  • The nonstop news cycle of genocide, kidnapping, corruption, and unrest

Some of these things are beyond my control. I can’t change the world news or the timeline of a deployment.

But here’s what I realized: while I can’t control those things, I was adding to my own fatigue through my business.

The Business Energy Leak

In complete transparency, I’m in the “I am doing everything” phase of entrepreneurship. I’ve outsourced what I can, and I have a plan for unloading more.

That still leaves a lot on my plate for now, and this “doing everything” lifestyle has been draining me—leaving little energy for the important “life stuff.”

No wonder I feel so wiped out.

As I was mulling over my life fatigue, I knew I couldn’t keep pouring from an empty cup. Something had to change in my entrepreneurial life.

So I opened ChatGPT, listed every weekly task I can’t yet outsource, and asked: How can I make this easier?

What came back was a simple, brilliant, specific plan: Cut back on what doesn’t matter right now, batch and repurpose content, and create themes to lighten the mental load.

So that’s what I did. In just a couple of hours, I batched and scheduled an entire month of social media (for Virtual Networkers and for me) and Mighty Networks content. Already, the fatigue feels lighter.

Protecting My Energy

Now I’ll have more energy for life stuff and more creative space for the projects that will truly move the needle on my personal brand and Virtual Networkers growth.

As a low-energy introvert, energy protection has to stay top of mind. Sometimes I forget, but this week was a reminder. A plan to simplify and streamline doesn’t just give me back hours; it gives me back life.

Here’s the truth: We will always face fatigue. Personal struggles. World events. Unexpected messes.

But we can help ourselves by looking closely at where the energy leaks are. Sometimes, those leaks are in our businesses—draining us dry and leaving little energy for the important life stuff.

That’s why simplifying, eliminating what doesn’t matter, batching what we can, and automating the rest isn’t just a productivity hack. It’s energy protection.

Because I don’t just want energy for my business. I want energy for my life, too.
