Marketing: Where Do You Even Begin? by Jill CelesteDo you often say to yourself: I don’t even know where to begin with my marketing!

(You are not alone!)

I compare marketing to a big Las Vegas buffet – so many choices! What do you put on your plate? Where do you even begin?

This marketing indecision often leads to analysis paralysis, which leads to inaction. You get so caught up in the marketing choices that you don’t choose anything.

In this week’s marketing strategy, I will tell you exactly where to begin as it relates to your marketing.

This advice will help you, no matter what stage of business you’re in. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, this is the blog post for you.

Pick marketing tactics that will reach your ideal clients in the greatest numbers and that you will love to implement. - Jill Celeste

Do you feel like you don’t even know where to begin as it relates to marketing your business?

You are not alone. Marketing overwhelm is a real thing. That’s because there are a ton of marketing tactics to choose from.

I want to teach you how to get started. And it’s simple really if you follow these two steps.

Step #1: Begin your marketing where your ideal clients are

Your ideal clients are the people who will purchase from you. Therefore, you need to be where they are.

Have you ever heard of the expression “fish where the fish are”? Remember that when you’re considering that buffet of marketing choices.

Don’t cast your line in a place where your fish do not swim. Period. You will be wasting your time.

And if you’re not sure where your ideal clients are hanging out, ask them. They will tell you.

Step #2: Next choose which will bring you marketing joy

Once you determined where your ideal clients are, consider how you’ll reach them joyfully.

Allow me to explain this through an example:

Let’s say your ideal clients are moms in their 30s and 40s who want to lose weight. They are hanging out at their kids’ schools, at the YMCA, on the sidelines at soccer games, and at the gym. They use Instagram and Facebook – and sometimes try recipes from Pinterest.

Given this information, you could do talks to the PTA, attend local soccer games, post recipes to social media, and attend moms’ support groups.

Which of these options brings you the most joy?

If you hate the idea of going to a moms’ support group, then skip it. Pick something that you love to do.

The Law of Attraction says “like attract like,” so if you like to speak at the PTA meeting, then the moms will like your talk. They will sense your excitement and passion because it will emanate from you!

(Conversely, if you hate speaking at PTA meetings, guess what will happen?)

It comes down to this:

Pick marketing tactics that will reach your ideal clients in the greatest numbers and that you will love to implement.

That’s how you decide where to begin. And it works every time.

ABOUT JILL

Hi, I’m Jill Celeste. I teach purpose-driven entrepreneurs (just like you) everything you need to know about marketing so you can become the Director of Marketing for your business.

Because when you put your Director of Marketing hat squarely on your head, marketing is your number one priority (which will result in more clients!).

When I am not teaching about marketing, you’ll find me hanging out with my husband or my teenage boys, or taking a nap with my basset hound, Emma. I also like to play with my two kittens and feed the backyard ducks (much to my neighbor’s chagrin).

If you’re feeling alone in your entrepreneurial journey, I invite you to check out my monthly membership group, The Celestial Circle. Affordable, loving, supportive, informative, and fun – that’s how we roll in The Celestial Circle. We would love to welcome you!
