Jill’s Top 4 Books of 2019 by Jill CelesteIt’s been a great year of reading! I have read many wonderful non-fiction books that helped my marketing, business, and mindset. I thought it would be helpful to showcase four books that helped me the most in 2019.

On a related note, in the second half of 2019, I began adding book reviews to my blog. This has been a fun way to share my bookish thoughts, plus build the know/like/trust factor with my ideal clients. It thrills me to know my book review inspired you to get the book!

I plan on writing more book reviews in 2020. Be sure you’re following me on Pinterest, Facebook, and Instagram so you can see links to my reviews.

And now, on to my top 4 books of 2019!

#1: Playing Big by Tara Mohr

Book review of Playing Big by Tara MohrPlaying Big is a book I wish I wrote. Nevertheless, I am glad Tara Mohr wrote it because it has to be said: Women need to play a bigger game so we can change the world!

Mohr breaks down the reasons why women aren’t playing a bigger game – and how to combat these constraints to live a more fulfilled, louder life.

Playing Big is a must-read for female entrepreneurs. It calls out our shit (in a loving, gentle way), shows us how to bust through our mindset blocks, and leaves you feeling empowered.

#2: Chillpreneur by Denise Duffield-Thomas

Chillpreneur by Denise Duffield-ThomasDenise Duffield-Thomas could talk about hedge funds or the phone book, and I would find it empowering. Consider me a huge DDT fan!

When her latest book, Chillpreneur, came out earlier in 2019, I pre-ordered it and immediately started to read it once her book hit my doorstep. And I was not disappointed!

Chillpreneur taught me this: I can have a successful business that matches my energy level. Not only could I pull it off logistically, I have permission to do so.

Let’s face it: The entrepreneurial “hustle” is romanticized and lauded. As a low-energy person, I worried if I could be successful because I don’t have energy to “hustle.”

Guess what? Denise Duffield-Thomas doesn’t like to hustle either, and she’s running a super successful business on her terms. I am inspired!

#3: The Four Spiritual Laws of Prosperity by Edwene Gaines

Book Review: The Four Spiritual Laws of Prosperity by Edwene GainesI believe compensation is divine. God wants us to be richly compensated for our Gifts.

Didn’t we become entrepreneurs because we want to make money helping people?

We can have the best product in the world, but if we don’t have the right mindset to accept money, we won’t be prosperous.

If you’re like me, finding a spiritual connection to earning money is important, too.

That’s where The Four Spiritual Laws of Prosperity come in. Not only do you get a “formula” to follow for greater prosperity, you receive confirmation that your entrepreneurial journey is a divine one.

Even for the most cynical of people, this book will help you so much. Don’t hesitate in reading it. Your prosperity is waiting for you!

#4: You Are Awesome by Neil Pasricha

Jill Celeste's book review of YOU ARE AWESOME by Neil PasrichaYou Are Awesome is a book about being resilient. And I think it’s one of the most helpful books I’ve read in a long time.

Let’s face it: Entrepreneurs need to be resilient. Failures, rejections, and other setbacks dot our journey. And we have to be nimbler in bouncing back from this stuff.

This is especially true for female entrepreneurs. Resilience is something most of us could work on. A failure can knock the wind out of us.

If you read You Are Awesome, you’ll learn Pasricha’s nine secrets for being more resilient. These are nine actionable ways you can start implementing today, and you and your business will be better if you do.

ABOUT JILL

Hi, I’m Jill Celeste. I teach purpose-driven entrepreneurs (just like you) everything you need to know about marketing so you can become the Director of Marketing for your business.

Because when you put your Director of Marketing hat squarely on your head, marketing is your number one priority (which will result in more clients!).

When I am not teaching about marketing, you’ll find me hanging out with my husband or my sons, loving up my two cats, or feeding the backyard ducks (much to my neighbor’s chagrin). I am an avid reader of literary fiction and personal development books. And I like to talk to my sweet basset hound, Emma, who left this earthly plane on October 17, 2019.
