Virtual Networkers

Jill Celeste,
Founder of Virtual Networkers

Stephanie Land is one of my heroes—a New York Times bestselling author, advocate for women experiencing poverty and surviving domestic violence, and so much more. In mid-December, Stephanie sent her “End of Year Review,” where she shared an unforgettable truth about money and privilege:

“Whenever I see ‘Money Can’t Buy Happiness,’ it feels like it has some sort of accompanying ‘Pull Yourself up by Your Bootstraps’ messaging hidden in there. … Money buys you prescriptions and food and an appointment with an acupuncturist or a naturopath for a different opinion if that’s your thing. Money buys you car repairs without the risk of losing your job or housing. … It buys you a decent bed, a warm coat, fuel, insurance, and a little treat when you need one.”

Her words stopped me in my tracks. She named the hard truth: Money isn’t the root of happiness, but it unlocks doors—to security, well-being, and time for what truly matters. As a woman entrepreneur, I’ve been grappling with financial struggles that left me exhausted and overwhelmed. Stephanie’s email arrived at the perfect moment, reminding me that financial freedom isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity.

Financial Freedom Is a Journey

Financial freedom isn’t just about making more money—it’s about reclaiming your power and building a life where you’re no longer at the mercy of financial stress. For women entrepreneurs, it’s the foundation for creating a business and life that align with our terms and values.

And for too long, I haven’t had the financial freedom I deserve—and I’m done with that.

Stephanie’s email inspired me to take a hard look at my finances. I’ve always dreamed of financial independence, but last December, I made the decision to act. For me, financial freedom means:

  • Earning More: Identifying high-value opportunities that align with my gifts.
  • Spending Smarter: Letting go of impulsive buys and focusing on intentional, purpose-driven spending.
  • Building Security: Lowering personal debt and creating a robust savings cushion.
  • Streamlining My Business: Tightening expenses, improving profitability, and keeping clear financial records.

This is where I’m starting—and I hope you’ll consider joining me on the road to financial freedom.

Your Financial Freedom Action Plan

If you’re ready to reclaim your financial power, here’s a roadmap to help you get started:

  1. Define What Freedom Means to You: Write down your personal and business goals tied to financial independence.
  2. Audit Your Finances: Spend a month tracking every dollar to uncover patterns and opportunities for savings.
  3. Rewrite Your Money Story: Journal about your beliefs around wealth. Replace limiting beliefs with empowering truths.
  4. Surround Yourself with Support: Seek out communities, like Virtual Networkers, that champion abundance and financial empowerment.
