3 Books Every Female Entrepreneur Should Read To Get Louder In Her Business

What three books should every female entrepreneur read? It’s almost like choosing your favorite child because there are many helpful and wonderful books out there.

I love to read non-fiction books that focus on marketing, business development, self-help, personal development, and spiritual development. Throw in a memoir or two, and you get an idea what my bookshelves look like!

So, to write this marketing lesson, I stood in front of my non-fiction bookshelves and asked: Which three books would I give to a female entrepreneur who wants to get louder in her business?

And with that criteria, I present to you my answer. Are you ready to add to your Amazon Wish List? Here we go!

Remember when I declared that 2020 was the Year of Loud Women? I believe it to be true to this day. Getting louder is how we, as female entrepreneurs, will change the world. My goodness, doesn’t the world need feminine energy right now?

To help you get louder in your business, I would recommend these three books to any female entrepreneur. If you haven’t read them, get your hands on them right away. They could change your business (and your life).

Book review of Playing Big by Tara Mohr#1: Playing Big by Tara Mohr

My book review:

Women entrepreneurs are the changemakers the world needs right now. However, we have been conditioned to not make noise, to be polite, and to question our knowledge.

It’s our job, as female changemakers, to recognize these patterns and work through them. And it can be done if you follow the advice outlined in Playing Big.

Playing Big focuses on topics, such as your inner critic, how to handle fear, how to stop hiding, and much more. I consider it required reading for every female entrepreneur, and it’s helped me so much in my pursuit to be louder. Female entrepreneurs, get this book!

#2: Untamed by Glennon Doyle

My book review:

As you get louder, you will need to become “untamed.” What does that mean? It means you will have to shed your societal conditioning of modesty, silence, and self-reserve. The patriarchy wants us to be quiet and self-doubting, but it does not serve women. Ever.

Glennon’s book is the field guide to becoming untamed.  It’s the appropriate next chapter to Love Warrior, where Glennon shares her story on how she saved her marriage. In Untamed, Glennon sheds her tamed skin, by leaving her husband, falling in love and marrying Abby Wambach, and raising her children.

She tears up “memos” about how to raise daughters, respect your mother’s opinion, and what family looks like. Being untamed is not an overnight process, for sure, but with Glennon’s stories and inspiration, you’ll feel ready to take the journey.

Book Review: Braving The Wilderness by Brene’ Brown#3: Braving The Wilderness by Brene’ Brown

My book review:

I am a firm believer in entrepreneurs using their marketing platforms to advance their causes.

Therefore, female entrepreneurs must learn to brave the wilderness, even if it means upsetting someone. We must stand in our authentic selves, knowing that our community will love and support us. This includes our ideal clients, who I define as those people who buy from us and believe in our causes.

This is scary as hell, but it’s necessary. Braving The Wilderness shows us how to navigate this scary-as-hell path.

I encourage female entrepreneurs to read Braving The Wilderness to help them lean into more authenticity and vulnerability. Translate what Brene’ says into your marketing, and you have struck marketing gold.
